About the Club

We are a friendly, fun loving family club that takes a pride in developing paddlers’ skills. We paddle on a number of rivers throughout the region and beyond.

Whether you want paddle kayaks or Canadian canoes, take on the challenge of white water, surf, the open sea or just enjoy a quiet paddle down one of our beautiful rivers we will have something for you.

The club draws paddlers from a wide area around Bristol and welcomes all ages and abilities.  We encourage beginners to take up the sport, develop their confidence and learn new skills.  For more experienced paddlers we offer the opportunity to develop your skills or have fun on the water with other paddlers. We have an active coaching programme that aims to help paddlers develop the skills they need to go paddling in a safe and enjoyable way.

With around 100 members, a great selection organised of trips and courses and a large fleet of canoes and kayaks we are able to help beginners get started in this fantastic sport and more experienced paddlers try something new.

During the summer we hold training sessions at The Saltford Shallows that can lead to BC Paddle Discover and Explore qualifications.

Throughout the year we have monthly pool sessions at Yate Leisure Centre (usually the last Saturday of the month) and run a Saturday paddle (1st of the month) at The Saltford Shallows.

We also run multi-day club events, usually over a weekend, that take groups of paddlers to fun and exciting venues.
The two most popular are the Biblins (based on the River Wye near Symonds Yat) and later in the year a White Water Weekend which can be anywhere from Devon, Wales or even Yorkshire.
