Whether you are a complete beginner or have just returned from a first descent down a gnarly Himalayan torrent you will be made very welcome! We meet at Saltford Shallows every Wednesday evening during Spring and Summer.

First club night in 2010 will be WEDNESDAY 28th APRIL

Last club night in 2010 will be WEDNESDAY 8th SEPTEMBER

Time 6.30pm (on the water for 7pm) TILL DUSK

NEED A BOAT?

If you need to hire boat/paddle contact the Equipment Officer a couple of days in advance of the session. A suitable boat will be brought to Saltford for your use. Buoyancy aids, helmets and spraydecks are also available. For further information see equipment.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

Club Night is sociable and fun. It is a chance for paddlers of all abilities to meet up and paddle together. The club embraces a wide range of disciplines from open canoeing to freestyle kayaking and much in between. At NACC you do not need to be pigeon holed into one discipline!

From age 8 to 80+ are welcome to participate. All we ask is for water confidence and a positve 'have a go' attitude. BCU qualified coaches are on hand to supervise paddling activities.

WHERE?

Meet at Saltford Shallows, River Avon.

WHAT DO I NEED TO WEAR?

All those participating must be able to swim well and be water confident.

Please remember to bring with you

  • Acomplete change of clothing
  • A towel
  • Suncream - in the summer
  • If you wear glasses please make sure that you have the means of securing them to you, in case you capsize. We cannot be held responsible for lost glasses.
  • a plastic bag to put the wet kit in afterwards!

To paddle in please wear:

  • Light weight shoes (old ones!). Under no circumstances will you be allowed to paddle without footwear.
  • Warm clothing (several layers of thin clothing are better than one heavy layer - jeans are not suitable)
