How do I become a Level 1 Coach? At NACC we are very keen to encourage our paddlers to become coaches. Your own paddling will improve and you gain tremendous satisfaction helping others to develop their skills. In summary...what do you need to become a coach?
Once these qualifications are in place you will need to register with the BCU. Currently the registration charge is £55 for non BCU members and £39 if you are an existing BCU member. The Level 1 coaching course is approx. 32 hrs of contact time with an accredited provider. You do not require a first aid certificate or a CRB check. However, it is best practise if both these are in place. For further information please see this link: http://www.canoe-england.co.uk/media/pdf/Level%201%20Pre-course%20Info%20V2-0%20May09.pdf We would like to hear from any of you who are keen to get involved in becoming a BCU coach. We are looking at setting up an NACC Level 1 coaching course. Please email me if you are interested. Training Officer
