North Avon Canoe Club is a friendly club, that caters for all types of paddler - young or old, male or female - it doesn't matter, we are here simply to enjoy our time on the water with other like-minded people.

As a non-member you are welcome to attend up to three club events before you are required to pay membership: we want you to make sure that NACC is the club for you. Membership is due every year in February and entitles you to use the club's facilities (eg hire of canoes, kayaks etc) and take part in organised trips and training courses. The club is affiliated to the British Canoe Union (BCU).

Membership Rates

The membership year starts on 1st February each year; there is currently no joining fee. The fees for the year 2012-13 are shown below (these rates are reviewed annually by the committee and any proposed changes are subject to approval at the AGM held in January). If you want to avoid any price rises don't forget you can always send your membership renewal in early!!

Adults

£20

Junior

£10

Family

£40

For those not already members of the BCU, an extra fee per person must be added to the cost above to provide insurance cover (see liability below); currently (2012-13) these fees are £2 per adult and £1 per junior member. A junior member is someone who is under 16 years of age or when subscribing as part of a family is under 18 years of age or over 18 years old and in full time education. The membership form can be downloaded by clicking on the link below. Please send the form with a cheque made payable to "North Avon Canoe Club" to the membership secretary. Please do not send cash through the post.

New members who wish to join part way through the year should be aware that if you subscribe after 1st October then membership subscription is waived for the remainder of that year which means you can get up to 16  months subscription for the price of one year (remember because you have paid in advance then no additional fees are due even if the subscription fee is raised at the AGM).

Liability

Being a member of North Avon Canoe Club automatically gives you Third Party liability insurance cover for your entire club canoeing activities. This cover also applies to prospective members for the first three canoeing events (including pool sessions) that they attend. It is imperative that people join after these three events (or rejoin by the appropriate date). It's your individual responsibility to ensure that you have Personal Accident cover and it would be wise to check how your insurance covers you for canoeing, particularly on higher grade waters.
